Also known as a Colonic
Each appointment is approximately 1 hour
Colon Hydrotherapy safely and gently introduces warm, purified water into the colon, softening and loosening waste, encouraging natural peristalsis (waves of involuntary contractions that move contents onward) resulting in the evacuation of the contents of the large colon. This purified, healing water penetrates the deepest recesses of your being, helping you experience cleansing and renewal in response to your own body's personal needs.
Colon hydrotherapy is referred to as Colonics, Colon Irrigation, or High Enemas.
All of these are names for colon hydrotherapy, which uses water for inner cleansing of the large intestine, also called the colon. Colon hydrotherapy on the LIBBE is clean and relaxing. A soothing flow of filtered, ultraviolet-purified, temperature-controlled water is instilled gently into the colon through a disposable colonic nozzle inserted into the rectum to cleanse (evacuate) the contents of the lower colon. The system is designed to allow evacuation of the contents of the colon during the administration of the colonic irrigation. The pressure, temperature, and flow of water are all safely regulated throughout the session. It is sometimes used as a non-laxative preparation for colonoscopy or when medically indicated.
A colonic session is a comfortable experience for most people.
The techniques utilized allow a small amount of water to flow into the colon, gently stimulating the colon’s natural peristaltic action to release softened waste. The inflow of water and the release of waste may be repeated many times. During the session, most upper clothing can be kept on – You will be draped to always ensure your modesty. Your dignity is always maintained. Professional Colon Hydrotherapy devices have systems where the pressure, temperature, and flow of water, are all safely regulated throughout the session. The LIBBE System is comfortable and may be operated in privacy for those who prefer solitude. There is no odor! Odor is whisked away through the sewer drain pipe.
How Many Colon Hydrotherapy Sessions Should I Do?
Of course, the number of sessions desired will depend on the individual and/or Physician's recommendation. Many Physicians, such as Dr. Kellogg, Dr. Wiltsie, Dr. Waddington, and others suggest twelve sessions over a ten-week period, two **back-to-back, first week, two back-to-back the second week, and one a week for the following eight weeks.
**Back-to-back means 1 today & 1 tomorrow
Always consult with your physician regarding your personal health concerns.
The Client undresses from the waist down and is properly draped during the session. A small nozzle/rectal tube is gently and easily inserted in privacy by the client. Nozzles/rectal tubes are the size of a pencil, single-use, and disposed of after use.
Water flows through a Carbon Filter which removes any sediment, rust, or chlorine. That water is further purified by an Ultraviolet Purification System before it passes through the nozzle/rectal tube. Water flows gently into the rectum and waste is released naturally. This gentle, slow rate of UV purified-temperature safe water is fed from the gravity-fed Column. Less than TEN gallons of water may be used during the session at a safe temperature of 98F to 102F (Water temperature is safely controlled and adjusted). An Odor Exhaust System insures that the session room and entire center remain odor free.
The LIBBE base (table) has over three feet of clear viewing tube, which allows the client and the therapist to easily view (without any odor) the waste during releases.
A rinsing sprayer is used to rinse the bottom after the session. Appointments last approximately 1 hour, with 30-45 min on the table. Modesty is protected at all times.
I am always nearby to monitor and provide client assistance and comfort as needed.
After each session, the LIBBE is easily and safely disinfected with hospital-grade disinfectant.
Modern Colon Hydrotherapy Systems, such as the "LIBBE,” are manufactured through compliance with strict FDA guidelines that dictate rigorous accountability. FDA-registered colonic systems all feature temperature-controlled water-mixing and backflow prevention valves, pressure and temperature sensors, water purification, and disinfecting standards. Disposable ‘single-use’ nozzle/rectal tubes are provided for each client.
Professional Colon Hydrotherapy Systems must meet strict standards through the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and International Health Laws. Manufacturers are regularly inspected and must continually meet safety, sanitation, and environmental requirements.
Be sure when you visit any Center that they are using FDA systems and disposable nozzle/rectal tubes.
Hospital-grade disinfectant is used to clean the unit, as the FDA requires.
Historians tell us that the practice of Colon Hydrotherapy, or in its basic form, Enema, was first used by the Egyptians. The Ebers Paprus, of the 14th Century B.C., and the Edwin Smith Paprus (c. 1700 BC.,) both mention enemas and give directions for the use of the enema.
By the late 19th Century and early 20th Century, with the advent of rubber and plastic, the enema slowly gave way to strict FDA standards and safety in colon hydrotherapy equipment.
Dr. Kellogg reported in the 1917 Journal of American Medicine that utilized cleansing of the bowels, diet, and of course exercise as a popular treatment.
Colon Hydrotherapy eventually gained the attention of James A. Wiltsie, M.D., Who contended that “our knowledge of the normal and abnormal physiology of the Colon, and its pathology and management, has not kept pace with that of many organs and systems of the body.”
In 1995, Tiller Mind Body Inc. completed the registration and license process with the US FDA pre-market notification and received a letter allowing the distribution of the LIBBE Device. Tiller Mind Body Inc. manufactures medical devices under a strict quality management system and strives to meet the regulations of a quality management system.
